He married Desire A. Morrow in Greencastle, Putnam Co., IN, 7 MAY 1850.⁽¹⁵⁵⁹⁾ (Desire A. Morrow is #7818.) Desire was born in OH, circa 1828. (Additional notes for Desire A. In the Acts of the 1851 Chickasaw Council, at Postoak Grove, Indian Territory, it is recorded that he is a orphan Chickasaw child and the only heir of his deceased brother John Pitchlynn. He is also awarded by the council, two hundred dollars a year, for two years, to attend two medical courses at Greencastle, Indiana.
