John died 29 DEC 1871 nr Tishomingo, Tishomingo Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT, at 33 years of age.⁽¹⁶¹²⁾ His body was interred JAN 1872 in Highland Cem., Durant, Bryan Co., OK.

He married Emma (Emily?) Frances Nail.⁽¹⁶¹³⁾ (Emma (Emily?) Frances Nail is #2034.) Emma was born 1840.⁽¹⁶¹⁴⁾ Emma⁽¹⁶¹⁵⁾ was the daughter of Joel Henry Nail Jr. and Lucinda 'Sina' Smith. Emma died 1884 in Carriage Point, Blue Co., Choctaw Nation, IT, at 44 years of age. Her body was interred 1884 in Carriage Point, IT.⁽¹⁶¹⁶⁾ She was listed as a resident in the census report on '1855' Choctaw Roll, Blue Co., Choctaw Nation, IT, 1856.⁽¹⁶¹⁷⁾
