Acording to Pickens County, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory records B.J. Vaughan had been apointed as guardian of Mary V. Woods, the daughter and minor heir of L.L. Woods, deceased. In the March term of the Pickens County Probate Court, he filed his report on the estate of Mary V. Woods, which covered the period of October 1882 to December 1886, which means that L.L. Woods had to have died sometime before October 1882.

She was listed as a resident in the census report on '1855' Choctaw Roll, Chickasaw District, IT, DEC 1856.
