5. Col. George "Tootemastubbe"² Colbert (James Logan¹)⁽⁷⁰⁾ (#1072) was born 1744.⁽⁷¹⁾ George died 7 NOV 1839 in Fort Towson, Towson Co., Choctaw Nation, IT, at 95 years of age.⁽⁷²⁾ His body was interred 7 NOV 1839 in Fort Towson, Towson Co., Choctaw Nation, IT.⁽⁷³⁾

He married three times. He married Shullachie (Salechie) (Saleechie) Doublehead before 1797.⁽⁷⁴⁾ (Shullachie (Salechie) (Saleechie) Doublehead is #1283.) Shullachie⁽⁷⁵⁾ was the daughter of Chief 'Chugitague' Doublehead. Shullachie died 1 FEB 1846 in IT. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Chickasaw Roll, Chickasaw Nation, MS, 1818. He married sister Doublehead before 1807.⁽⁷⁶⁾ (sister Doublehead is #1899.) Sister⁽⁷⁷⁾ was the daughter of Chief 'Chugitague' Doublehead. Sister died circa 1807 in Colbert Ferry, AL.⁽⁷⁸⁾ Her body was interred circa 1813 in Colbert Co., AL.⁽⁷⁹⁾ Conflicting evidence states that she died circa 1813.⁽⁸⁰⁾ He married Tuskeahooto 1834.⁽⁸¹⁾ (Tuskeahooto is #24487.)

Conflicting evidence states that George was born 1764.⁽⁸²⁾ George was elected in Chickasaw Nation, 1800.⁽⁸³⁾ He was listed as a resident in the census report in Chickasaw Roll, Chickasaw Nation, MS, 1818. On the death of his brother, Levi Colbert, leadership of the Chickasaw passed into the hands of George Colbert. He was the rocognized chief at the time of removal until his death in 1839. He was buried with honors at Fort Towson, for he was a vetran of the American Revolution, having served under General Washington and having been commissioned a major in the army and awarded a sword. He also served under General Jackson by whom he had been commissioned a colonel in the Siminole Wars. He died at the age of 95, (75?).
