He married twice. He married Virginia Viola 'Odella' Winn before 1913.⁽⁹⁸⁵⁵⁾ (Virginia Viola 'Odella' Winn is #1222.) Virginia was born in TX, 17 OCT 1894.⁽⁹⁸⁵⁶⁾ Virginia was the daughter of William T. Winn and Mary Louisa Crites. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Chickasaw Nation, IT, 20 JUL 1900.⁽⁹⁸⁵⁷⁾ Virginia was divorced from Chester Arthur 'Ottie' Durham before 1915. William died 23 JUN 1973 at 75 years of age. Her body was interred June 1973 in Woodville Cemetery, Marshall Co., OK. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Chickasaw Nation, IT, 18 JUL 1900.

Chester enrolled in Woodville, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT for the Dawes Chickasaw Roll on 30 SEP 1898 and appears on Dawes card number 845.⁽⁹⁸⁶¹⁾ He was listed as a resident in the census report in Odell Twp., Marshall Co., OK, 7 MAY 1910.⁽⁹⁸⁶²⁾ Chester was divorced from Virginia Viola 'Odella' Winn before 1915. Chester Arthur Durham was called "Artie" by his mother Lottie Durham. Later in life this became corrupted to "Ottie", a name by which he was known all his adult life. He was originally named after the then president Chester A. Arthur. Apparently, he did not care much for the Chester name, because he re-arranged his name to Arthur C. Durham for all formal signing occasions.
