Levi "Itawamba Minco"², James Logan¹)⁽¹⁸²¹⁾ (#50) was born in MS.⁽¹⁸²²⁾ Based on the affidavit of Rebecca [Burney] McAlester that her grandmother was a sister of Lelia Colbert, daughter of Levi Colbert, and eliminating her paternal grandmother, Margaret Allen, who was an only child, thus Rebecca must have ment the mother and sister of her mother, Lucy James, it then seems very possible that Charlotte Colbert, sister of Lelia Colbert, who married Davis James, was mother of Lucy James.

Lucy died 1845 in IT.

She married Judge David Calhoun Burney in MS, circa 1834.⁽¹⁸²³⁾ (Judge David Calhoun Burney is #34.) David was born in MS, 1820.⁽¹⁸²⁴⁾ David⁽¹⁸²⁵⁾ was the son of Simon Burney and Margaret 'Peggy' Allen. David died 1871 in Aylesworth, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT, at 51 years of age.⁽¹⁸²⁶⁾ His body was interred 1871 in Archerd Cemetery, Linn, Marshall Co., OK.⁽¹⁸²⁷⁾ He was listed as a resident in the census report in Chickasaw Co., MS, 1840.⁽¹⁸²⁸⁾ David immigrated, 1844. Destination: destination unknown.⁽¹⁸²⁹⁾ David's occupation: Farmer/Judge in Chickasaw Nation, IT, before 1871.

Judge David Calhoun Burney and Lucy James had the following children:

629 ii. Susan Burney⁽¹⁸³⁰⁾ (#1141) was born in Chickasaw Co., MS 1836.⁽¹⁸³¹⁾ Susan died 10 JUL 1902 nr Pauls Valley, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT, at 66 years of age.⁽¹⁸³²⁾ She married twice. She married John (Mac?) Duke before 1860.⁽¹⁸³³⁾ (John (Mac?) Duke is #10633.) John was born in MS, circa 1815. (Additional notes for John (Mac?) Duke⁽¹⁸³⁴⁾) John died 24 JAN 1863 in IT, at 47 years of age. His body was interred JAN 1863 in Linn Cem., Chickasaw Nat, IT. She married Dr. William S. Burks 1864.⁽¹⁸³⁵⁾ (Dr. William S. Burks is #1144.) William was born in KY, 26 AUG 1826.⁽¹⁸³⁶⁾ William⁽¹⁸³⁷⁾ was the son of Benjamin B. Burks and Susan. William died 27 JUL 1903 in IT, at 76 years of age.⁽¹⁸³⁸⁾ He was listed as a resident in the census report nr Pauls Valley, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT, 1890.⁽¹⁸³⁹⁾ William enrolled nr Pauls Valley, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT for the Dawes Chickasaw Roll on 14 SEP 1898 and appears on Dawes card number 443.⁽¹⁸⁴⁰⁾ William's occupation: Doctor in Chickasaw Nation, IT, before 1903.

She was listed as a resident in the census report on '1855' Choctaw Roll, Chickasaw District, IT, DEC 1856.⁽¹⁸⁴¹⁾ Susan enrolled nr Pauls Valley, Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, IT for the Dawes Chickasaw Roll on 14 SEP 1898 and appears on Dawes card number 443.⁽¹⁸⁴²⁾
