'Mickey' died 31 DEC 1973 in Denison, Grayson Co., TX, at 54 years of age. His body was interred JAN 1974 in Woodville Cemetery, Marshall Co., OK.

'Mickey' was divorced from Dora (Deloris) Louise Jones in Odessa, Ector Co., TX, 22 MAY 1959. 'Mickey''s occupation: Assembler in Denison, Grayson Co., TX, 1973. Mickey Armstrong was born Homer Durham Armstrong. He never liked the names "Homer" or "Durham" and a a child quickly began calling himself "Mickey". Even when he entered the U.S. Marines during World War II, he gave his name as "Mickey" Armstrong. This act, more or less, established his legal name as Mickey H. Armstrong. Even his death certificate is under the name Mickey Homer Armstrong.

The tombstone on Mickey Armstrong's grave gives his date of death as 31 JAN 1973. This is off by one year, (it should read 31 DEC 1973). His older brother, Woodrow Armstrong, gave the wrong date to the stone cutter, because he, (Woodrow), was confused by the New Year's Eve date of death.

Mickey Homer, the youngest child of John & Sudie Armstrong, received the "Homer" name in honor of John's youngest brother Homer Rush Armstrong who was killed during WWI in France about a year before Mickey Homer was born.

Mickey was married at least two other times after his divorce with Louise. Each marriage was short lived and he was single at the time of his death.

'Mickey' Homer Durham Armstrong and Dora (Deloris) Louise Jones had the following children:
